Overview
In late 2012, musician Steve Strongman approached me to help update and refresh his website. His site was built using Bandzoogle, an online website builder specifically designed for musicians to promote their music. Steve was happy with their services, so we decided to update the existing site using Bandzoogle's custom site features and overriding some of the CSS and HTML.
Steve had some amazing promotional photography to work with. Unfortunately, these fantastic images were confined to a header box at the top of the site's pages. By removing the header box and placing Steve's images in the background of each page, I was able to display them in their entirety. Additionally, I reduced the opacity of the content areas so that areas that were covered could still be partially seen. The result was an impressive visual presence on each page. I also added page headers to assist visitors in identifying where they were on the site, along with various other tweaks.
It seems that Bandzoogle liked what we had done as well! At the end of 2013, they published an article titled "Best of Band Website Love 2013", and Steve's site was at the top of the list! Thanks, Bandzoogle...we're feeling the love!
